I have downloaded the evaluation version of the windows report designer and have pulled the sample angular code from the samples git repo.

It seems that the rdlx-json files generated by the designer are not compatible with the sample angular project (I get an error stating ‘Cannot read properties of undefined (reading ‘trim’)’). This happens if I simply load one of the sample files into the designer and save it again.

Do I need to update/downdate dependency version(s) in the sample app (its currently set to @grapecity/activereports-angular ^3.2)? If so what version(s) are compatible?

You can check the designer version by opening the designer then go to Files and click on About. I suspect you might be using version 4.0.1 for the designer. I would suggest you to upgrade the ActiveReports packages to v4.0.1 or v4.0.2 in the sample and then use the

    npm install --force
command to install the packages in the sample.

If the issue persists then share the sample project you are using and a sample report file so we can reproduce this issue at our end and get back to you accordingly.

    Hello,

The Angular sample on Github has been updated to v4, and it can now handle the report templates that were created by using the standalone designer application v4.
