Form Controls vs. ActiveX Controls

    Hello!

I am designing a data entry form for a work project and have decided to use some form of controls to help reduce the amount of data entry points. It’s an expandable document, so I have discovered that hiding/unhiding rows can have some funky results with control forms. I found a work around for the short term, but with scaling it up would lead to a lot of seemingly unnecessary VBA code. After some digging around I found that ActiveX controls seem to have more power to format it the way I want, BUT people seem to agree that you shouldn’t use ActiveX controls unless necessary.

My questions: what is the preferred way to approach using controls in your document?

Is there any major reasons NOT to use ActiveX controls on a relatively small document?

What is your favorite to use?

Questions I can anticipate now: This will eventually export to some sort of database. Don’t know if that info is relative, but thought I would include it.
