Is the Web Based Designer meant to be customized?

    We have been using the Windows based report designer for years and have added our own customized additions to it. This has worked well but we are considering moving to the web based designer. I downloaded the example project and the designer is really just a large set of minified jJavaScript, it doesn’t appear that this is really something that can be customized. Is it not meant to be customized? If so, do you have customers who have essentially done customizations?

    I agree with you the Web Designer is less customizable comparatively to the Windows based Report Designer which is essentially a .Net Control.

    Yes, We do not recommend modifying the minified Web Designer JavaScript files.

    If you want to modify the control appearance we do attached a CSS file with Web Designer. For customizing the controls like Tool Bar, Menu, App Bar, Data tab the recommend way of doing so is to simply hide the control and add a custom control.

    We do provide plenty of Web Designer API’s that will help you to customize the web designer. And we are constantly adding new APIs based on users needs.
