    Hello,

I’m using the oracle provider sample (user designer) to connect to our database. I’ve been using v16.2.0 and everything works.

Now I’ve upgraded to the latest version 16.4.0 and I can’t change the connectionstring anymore.

    It defaults back to : DATA SOURCE=source;Password=;User Id=user;

So the password it replace by an empty value.

I’ve tried every version and the issue starts with version v16.2.1.

    Do you have any advice?

    Regards,

    Bram

    Hi,

See attached the behavior. When I change the connectionstring to something it always goes to to the previous value but without a password.

    It worked before v16.2.1.oracleprovider.zip

    Hi Bram,

Oracle Data Provider not available since System.Data.OracleClient is deprecated. We add the Oracle Data Provider using the CustomDataProvider approach for more information please refer to the following page of our documentation: https://www.grapecity.com/activereportsnet/docs/latest/online/add-custom-data-providers.html

It might be possible that upgrading from an older version is causing the issue. I would suggest you to modify our GitHub Designer Sample Mentioned here: FlatEndUserDesigner and add the Oracle Data Provider to it.

You may refer to the following sample application for adding Oracle Data Provider: Oracle Data Provider Sample

Based on the above approach, I have modified the FlatUIDesigner and attached it along with.

    Regards,

    Akshay

    OracleDataProvider.zip

    Akshay,

I’m using that example and added the provider. That works until v16.2.1.

In your demo you are using v16.1.1 and that works fine.

    Bram

    Hi Bram,

I have update the sample to ActiveReports 16.4.0 and the DataSource UI is working at my end. Please test with the attached application: OracleDataProvider.zip

Please let us know if the issue persists.

    Regards,

    Akshay

    Akshay

When I use your example with my report then I still get the same error.

When adding a space in the datasource and pressing the check button, it clears the password.

    I’ve attached my report

    Hi Bram,

Apologies for the detail in getting back to you. I have successfully reproduced the behavior on my end and have identified that setting the password via the credentials tab does not remove the existing password. I am currently investigating this issue in more detail and will provide you with an update as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

    Regards,

    Akshay

    Hi Bram,

This seems to be an issue in the UI. I have escalated this issue to the development team and will get back to you once I have any information on the same. [AR-30548]
