I don’t know what to do, I don’t have any backup and lost files are really very important. I invested so much time, can anyone help me to recover the corrupt Excel file.

To repair corrupt Excel file make use of the Open and Repair tool, and check if this works for you. Or else sometimes due to system issues your Excel file start performing weird the corrupted Excel file that is showing corrupt becomes inaccessible and as a result, the networks, servers mark the Excel file as corrupted.

So if your Excel file gets corrupted and you are unable to repair it, then move the file to another folder, drive or server and check if the issue is resolved.

Despite this, you can also try to recover corrupt workbook data from the temp files.

    • First, open the temp folder location > locate the Excel temp files with TMP extension.

    For Windows 8/10 users:
    Go to – C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\UnsavedFiles

    For Windows 7 users:
    Go to – C:\Users\name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel\

    • Locate temporary Excel files begin with “$” or “~” > end with “.TMP”.
    • Then copy the files > save to another Safe location > and change the extension from.TMP to .XLS/.XLSX.

Hope this works to recover unsaved Excel file
