    Hello,

    we have a new build computer, so I need to deactivate the license on the old computer and activate it on the new one.

    I used “C1LicenseActivation.exe” to activate the license on the old computer, but there is no option to deactivate.

    The “help website” (https://c1verification.componentone.com/webfiles/#Auto) says:

    “Deactivation of a ComponentOne product is completed by clicking on the Help menu item in the toolbar and then clicking on Deactivate. The Deactivation Wizard will open.”

    I cannot find a Help menu item in C1LicenseActivation.exe!

    Please help!

    Best Regards

    Hello,

    You can find the Deactivation option in Start Menu → All Programs → ComponentOne → Activation → ComponentOne License Deactivation. This would open the Deactivation dialog.

    You can also run the deactivation wizard via command prompt. Following are the steps for deactivating the serial key:

    1. Run Command prompt with administrative rights.
    2. Type the following command :

      “C:\Program Files\Common Files\ComponentOne Shared\C1LicenseActivation.exe” /d
    3. Enter the license key and click on Deactivate button.

    Let me know if this helps.

    Thanks,

    Richa

    Hello,

    I have installed C1studio20153.1.9 initially in our build server now my project requires C1studio20163.1.14 to be installed on same server by uninsatlling 20153.1.9. Is that possible to use same license key which i used in C1studio20153.1.9 for C1studio20163.1.14 as well. Please also confirm do i need to deactivate the license in C1studio20153.1.9 before using for C1studio20163.1.14.

    Thanks in advance,

    Yuganya

    This assumes of course that you actually can run C1LicenceActivation on the computer you are trying to deactivate.

    What does one do when the activated computer is some five years old and no longer exists but there is a need to install the licenced components to work on a project of similar age?

    Hello,

    Am trying to deactivate license of component one of version 2016 which is installed in my machine and gonna install version 2018 with same license. While i try to deactivate i got an popup like the deactivation URL does not supports TLS 1.2 and could not able to connect to internet. Whereas as a security reason my system has only TLS 1.2 protocol enabled. Am stuck up here in deactivating the license. I tried to deactivate via web as given in https://c1verification.componentone.com/webfiles/ but even that fails as the URL for manual deactivation is throwing 404 error page. Please help me on this.

    Hello,

    @scott.ellsworth:

    You get multiple activations with your serial key (2 activations per serial key from 2017V1). You may deactivate it on one of the machines known to you and then use the key on the other machine.

    @yugisri92:

    If you have tried deactivating using the “ComponentOne License Deactivation” utility (default location: C:\Program Files (x86)\ComponentOne\C1StartMenu\Activation), you can try the following method used in case of no internet connection.

    Use the phone deactivation option to get an authentication number from the team. Then, use this number and other details to fill in the Deactivation Form: https://c1verification.componentone.com/webfiles/DeactivationRequest.aspx
