"The installer was unable to reach the ComponentOne server" Issue Resolved

    If you recently have experienced an issue with the C1ControlPanel (installer) with the message:

    “The installer was unable to reach the ComponentOne Studio download servers. This can be caused due to firewall settings or other security measures on your network.”

    The issue was on our end and it has now been fixed in ComponentOneControlPanel20192.1.16.exe. You can download it today from any of the download links on the ComponentOne web pages, or from below:

    Is there any way to fix this permanently? It seems that this only works once every time you install it. The faulty version remains present on your system.

    Hello,

    ControlPanel is downloaded on your machine with the above mentioned link. It can then be used each time for the installation and other purposes, while you can manually delete the previous faulty version. If you open this “ComponentOneControlPanel20192.1.16.exe” each time, the issue should not occur.

    You can find out where the new file gets extracted with Task Manager, then copy everything and replace your original files installed on the machine

    Thanks Jack. Had not thought of that. For the life of me, I can’t understand why they didn’t simply make their installer actually replace the faulty version.

    Hi,

    I apologize for the inconvinience that has been caused because of this.

    In order to get the new version to work for you in a machine where the older

    versions have already been installed , you would have to

    1. Run the new version of the installer.
    2. Install an edition or repair any installed edition.

    Once the process completes, the new installer will replace the older one and

    be available from the ControlPanel->Add and Remove programs.

    So, when you run the same the next time from either ControlPanel->Add and Remove programs or

    from the Desktop shortcut, it won’t be a problem.

    Please let me know if you would need some other ways of replacement and we can work on that.
