We’re currently evaluating the gcpdfviewer and noticed a strange issue on some user’s machines (including mine). The PDF viewer doesn’t seem to recognize left clicks on the displayed PDF. Clicking any of the toolbars and sidebar items works as expected but left clicking an annotation or attempting to place an annotation on a PDF doesn’t respond.

Here are a few things we noticed about this issue:

    • "

    • “This issue doesn’t appear to be implementation-related because it also happens on the demos in your documentation”

    • “It only seems to affect left-clicks. Right-clicking an annotation highlights it as expected.”

    • " After testing on several machines, it appears the issue may be related to touch-enabled devices. To confirm this, I used a machine that didn’t have the issue and connected to it via RDP from a touch-enabled device and the issue re-appeared."

    "

I would appreciate any assistance you can provide in resolving this issue as we would like to purchase a license and begin using the PDF viewer in our system.

I just want to add that this behavior occurs regardless of web browser and the only determining factor seems to be whether the device is touch-enabled or not. On those devices, touch handlers seem to work fine. It’s the left click handler that misbehaves.

    Hi,

We are sorry for the inconvenience, we tried to replicate the issue at our end and we are unable.

We tried to replicate the issue at our end using the below link:

    https://www.grapecity.com/documents-api-pdf/demos/gc-pdf-viewer/viewer-edit-annotations/pdf-cs

We open this link in the Mobile browser and it works well. Could you please let us know the detailed steps so that we may replicate the issue at our end? Because of the pandemic situation (Covid 19), we are working from home and we have limited device access.

Hence if you would provide the detailed steps, we may try with our team and try to replicate the issue,

    Regards,

    Manish Gupta

    Hi Hadas,

We were able to replicate the issue on Mozilla by modifying the touch settings. And it was forwarded to the concerned team with the internal tracking id DOC-3255.

The dev team is working on this issue and it should be fixed in the next hotfix. We will let you know as the hotfix is released.

    Regards,

    Manish Gupta
