C1FlexGrid export to Excel changing date format from AUS to US

I have a C1FlexGrid datagrid that is displaying dates in the Australian dd/mm/yyyy format.

When I use the built-in export functionality to export to Excel (*.xlsx) the resulting file displays dates in the US mm/dd/yyyy format.

However, when I use the built-in export functionality to export to CSV (*.csv) the resulting file (when opened with Excel) displays the dates is the correct AUS dd/mm/yyyy format.

I am using Excel 2016 to open the both files. Region settings on my PC have been set up to use the AUS date format.

Is there is an issue in the C1FlexGrid export process or should I be looking at my PC or Excel settings?

    Thanks for your time.

    Hello Daniel,

Apologies for missing out this post, leading to more time taken in responding to you.
Could you please clarify whether you are setting the format for the columns anywhere or just replying on Localization? Could you share a sample showing your approach.
