I’m going to start a reporting project using FlexReports in ASP.NET Core 2.2. I’ve looked at samples but cannot find a working solution for this. Is there any up-to-date sample for this?

    Hi,

We are sorry for the inconvenience. The Report service is not completely written in ASP.NetCore. The API for FlexReports required the .NetFrameWork along with ASP.Net Core.

The porting to API in pure ASP.Net Core is the roadmap and the team is working on this but we are unable to provide the ETA for the same.

Hello, just wondering if there has been any update on this? Is it possible to use FlexReports with .NET Core 2.0/3.0 yet?

I see the report nuget package: C1.AspNetCore.Api.Report, but then I also see the following links, which seems to indicate that the report API is available in ComponentOne Studio Web API Edition, but not available in ASP.NET Core Web API Edition. Can you please confirm this is the case and if there is an ETA or additional information you can provide? Thanks!

    Hi,

We are sorry for the inconvenience, the Report API is not supported yet with Asp.Net Core3.0. It still requires the .NetFramework packages which are supported with 2.0.

The sample can be found at the following location for Report with Asp.Net Core.

    ComponentOne Samples\Web Api\v4.5.2\CS\ASPNETCore\WebApi

Further, following are the steps to create the Api Project:

    Open Visual Studio

    Create a new project

Select the C1 template as the following image:

Select the location and name the project

Select the Asp.Net Core target to 2.0

    Choose Create RunTime license

Select the Serial Key and project | Generate button

    Hope it helps!

Hi, is there any update on this? does flexreport work on asp.net core 5?

  • Posted 20 April 2021, 6:39 pm EST

    Hi,

The support for FlexReport and .Net 5 is in beta version. Whenever FlexReport will be fully compatible with 5.0, then the WebAPI version will be updated to be compatible with .NET 5.

    Ashwin

Hello, I am curious if you have an ETA for release of asp.net core support for FlexReports.

    Thanks

    Hi Gagik,

Our development team has planned to add support for the Asp.Net core version for FlexReport WebApi in the 2021v3 release which is expected to be released before or after Christmas week.
