Is there a way to modify the number of iterations that occur when a formula is circular referenced? If not is there a way to prevent the circular reference from occurring altogether

    Hi,

We are sorry but there is no way to prevent circular reference check or control it. Further, could you let us know about your use case that why you would want to prevent circular reference check?

    Regards

A really simple example would be if the user is in cell A1 and they use the formula =SUM(A1+10), I would like to control the number of times this iterates and by default make it iterate once

Sorry Adisa, but I’m still not clear about the use case. I think there could be a few problems with allowing circular references like:

    • What would happen if user edits the cell again and commits? Does the formula iterate once again or not? And if not, then wouldn’t it make formula useless for successive use?

    • What would happen if we refer this circular referenced formula into another cell?

    • What would happen in case of circular reference between multiple cells like:

    > in cell A1: =A2+10

    > in cell A2: =A3+10

    > in cell A3: =A1+10

How could we determine the correct value to use? Does that mean each cell should more than one values? One for original value and one after updated by circular reference?
