    Hi, suddenly I’m getting this error with my VS2017 and my Spread.NET v12.

    When I drop the component to a form I get:

    When I try to compile I get:

    I’ve tried to remove the references to Grapecity and FpSpread, and to add them automatically by adding again a FpSpread, but the problem persists.

    I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the whole product again, and I’ve activated my product without any problem:

    I can’t continue the development because of this error. What can I do?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello,

    The 002 error indicates that the installation is damaged and that there is some issue with registry keys of the product. So, did you recently install a program that might interfered with the registry entries? Like installed some software that edits them or remove/re-insert hard disk etc? Please try disabling any Anti-virus software(s) installed on the machine.

    Also, did you use ensure using the Administrator rights while re-installing Spread?

    Regarding the compile time error ‘Unable to resolve type…’: Try opening the *.licx file and change the version in there to the version you have in your bin directory. If it does not resolve, please share the licenses.licx file here.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards.

    Hi! I’ve not installed any new software, I’m using just the Windows security, this happened suddenly after a normal compilation.

    I’ve tried all the things you mention, nothing have worked.

    This are some of the things I’ve tried:

    Attempt 1)

    • I’ve removed the references from the project.
    • I’ve erase all the files from the project folder related to Grapecity and FarPoint.
    • I’ve erase the licenses.licx file.
    • I’ve added a FpSpread component to a form just to force the re-adding of all the references.

      And again I’ve got:

    Attempt 2)

    • I’ve done a full clean like in Attempt 1.
    • I’ve checked my references version:

    • If now I remove the licenses.licx, it compiles, so, I get again the dll in the bin folder. If now I check the versions, they are ok:

    • Now I manually modify my licenses.licx to:

    • But, the problem persists…

    This is my licenses.licx file: licenses.zip

    I’ll look forward for your answer. Thanks again.

    Hello,

    Thank you for trying to follow our suggestions and sharing the results.

    In order to narrow down the source of the issue, can you please create a new WinForms project and try to drag the FpSpread from VS toolbox.

    If the issue does not occur in this project, then there is some issue with your original project.

    If however, the issue still occurs then the issue is with damaged Spread installation which I suspect might be because of the damaged registry entries.

    Meanwhile, can you please try to replace the following entry in *.licx file from

    FarPoint.Win.Spread.FpSpread, FarPoint.Win.Spread, Version=12.45.20193.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=327c3516b1b18457
    ```to```
    FarPoint.Win.Spread.FpSpread, FarPoint.Win.Spread
    Thanks,
    Ruchir
    • I’ve added FpSpread in a new project- I’ve added FpSpread in a new project, again:
    • I’ve replaced the my licenses.licx to FarPoint.Win.Spread.FpSpread, FarPoint.Win.Spread, and I’ve got:
    What should I do? Thanks again.
    Hello,
    Thank you for the image. It’s strange that even after the above suggestions, you still are facing the issue.
    Just to further investigate the matter, I would request you to perform the following:
    1. Can you please try disabling the window defender once and see if the issue gets resolved.
    2. Have there been any Windows Update recently since the time you are observing the issue? If yes, please share your previous version and the current version.
    3. You might already be doing this, but still, try to run Visual Studio in Administrative mode.
    With kind regards,
    Ruchir
    I’ve tried all the things you are proposing me, with the same results…
    I really appreciate your help, but I’m going to try doing a clean installation of my operative system.
    Regards.
    Hi, I did a clean installation of my system (I have las Win10 version, last VS Community 2019, and this time I have the FpSpread 12.45.20193.0).
    All was working fine until today. Now I’m facing exactly the same problem. The most strange thing is that I’m not working with FP components now (they are on my project, but I’m not building things with them now).
    I’m absolutely unable to keep working because of this.
    I wait for your help, thanks!
    Hello,
    We have tried replicating the issue in few environments using the same Spread version, but did not replicate. So, as you mention that everything was working till yesterday but not working anymore, I comprehend that some operation must have performed since yesterday.
    So, can you please clarify that the Windows update happened or do you remember doing any operation that can modify Windows settings?
    Also, can you please share OS build version of your machine?
    Regards,
