DragFill Type CopyCells but with value-copy only possible?

    Hello!

There are several DragFill types available, all of them are of great use.

But I would need another feature:

I would like to just copy the values via dragging but without a series-effect by increasing the values while only the values are copied but without formatting, watermark etc.

"Copy Cells Value only without formatting and watermarks)

Is this somehow achievable or will this feature be available in a future release?

    Hi Hector,

You may use the fill without formatting option for the required functionality. Please refer to the following gif and attached sample that demonstrates the same.

    Hello!

    Thanks!

    But:

If you select now again from A1 to A8 and then drag right the numbers get inceased to the right with the setting “Fill without formatting”.

But I would expect them to be unchanged and just copied.

    best regards

    Hi Hector,

This does not seem like an expected behavior from SJS hence we have forwarded it to the concerned team for further investigation. We will update you regarding this as soon as we get any information. The internal Id for this issue will be SJS-7610.

    Hi Hector,

The Devs informed us that this is by design. SpreadJS will always fill based on the fill type. When drag-filling down, it is copying cells. This is the same for Excel. When drag-filling to the right, the fill is changed to fill series. This is the same for both Excel and SpreadJS, however, in Excel, the range doesn’t actually fill the series, it just copies the cells. Our developers have said this is a bug with Excel, and SpreadJS actually fills the series correctly.

    Hello!

Is there a way that you maybe consider implement a “copy cells without formatting” for the Fill-feature?

Or do you have an idea how I could achieve that with the current set of features available? Maybe by somehow intercepting per code?

    best regards,

    Gerald
