I made an Elgg Plugin with wijmo components and would like to share the plugin with the Elgg Community. Elgg is a open source project and also the plugins for Elgg are open source. So the question is, how can the menbers of the Elgg-Community use my elgg/wijmo plugin?

    Hi,

Assuming that you are using the Wijmo 5 controls:

If the Wijmo controls are not licensed, it shows the Watermark on the localhost and if the project is deployed on the server, users would get the Popup.

    Please share the following information:

    • "* “You would like to share the Plugin code using Wijmo as external resource”

    • “Or you would like to share the Wijmo Source file”

    • “What functionality your plugin performs”

    • "Using Wijmo5 Controls https://www.grapecity.com/wijmo/demos/ "

    "

However, the Elgg community team can use your plugin and if they like it they need to purchase the Wijmo license to use in their projects.

We have also forwarded this to the concerned team, you would get an update from us.

    Hi Manish,

thank you for your immediate answer.

I have Wijmo 3 but I will buy Wijmo 5 in the near future.

I use the plugin with local wijmo resources, but I can imagne to use it with external resources but I must test it before.

The plugin uses the wijmo rating and cobobox components and in the near future the flexgrid, report, chart, excel and pdf components.

    Hello,

We are sorry for the more question on this.

use the plugin with local wijmo resources

Are you using the Source files or minified files?

I can imagine to use it with external resources

Wijmo 3 requires to use of local resources. While Wijmo5 can be installed using NPM.

The plugin uses the wijmo rating and cobobox components and in the near future the flexgrid, report, chart, excel and pdf components.

Could you please let us know what type of plugin you are creating and what functionality does it provide?

As we understand, you are trying to create a Dashboard plugin.

    Hello,

thank you for your fast answer.

    I will answer your questions:

Are you using the Source files or minified files?

I use the minified files for the Plugin.

While Wijmo5 can be installed using NPM.

I have no experiens with NPM

Could you please let us know what type of plugin you are creating and what functionality does it provide?

As we understand, you are trying to create a Dashboard plugin

I would say at moment it is a tool for schools to make to ratings about the sustanability of companies, countries, persons, products with questionnaires but also to import existing data to check the sustainability. Second and later it is a dashboard to make the results public.

    Best regards

    Hello Manfred,

We received the following information from the concerned team:

Wijmo is a commercially licensed software. We are not aware of any open source license model that would allow a commercial dependency. But if you feel that you have a model that supports it, then it is your decision to publish it.
