How to apply restricted cell merging on specific columns

    Hi,

I have been looking at the samples for cell merging and I feel the restricted cell merging (https://www.grapecity.com/wijmo/demos/Grid/Merging/RestrictedMerging/angular) will work for me.

Basically, I want to apply cell merging when two specific columns in a row are the same as demonstrated at restricted cell merging.

But I found a bug in the sample that the cell merging is applied to each column even if I set cellMerging property to false. Please refer to the attachment to reproduce the issue.

Secondly, when I sort a column while doing cellMerging, then the merging gets distorted. Is there any way to handle it?

    Hi Chhavi,

I’ve updated the sample to consider the mentioned points. Please refer to the attached sample and let us know if you face any issues.

    Hi Ashwin,

    Thanks for the help.

But it does not work because on my grid I don’t enable cell merging on the first columns. In my case, the column index could be anything, it is based on what layout we have selected. So I would consider applying cell-merging based on column binding. Can you update the sample for the same?

And, When I looked at your code, it is hard to understand cause no propper naming conventions have been used.

    Thanks

    Hi Chhavi,

Please refer to the attached updated sample. And if there are still issue could you please share some screenshots of what you want to achieve?

Regarding the naming convention, we just used the same names that were already in the sample shared by you. Please feel free to reach out if you struggle with any of the variables.

    Regards
