Show measures in rows Pivot Grid

    Hi,

I’m looking to show measure values in the values area in Pivot grid, but have their descriptions show along the vertical axis, rather than the default of columns, that it seems to be using.

I can see that you can move individual measures onto the rows section, but the goal is to show a single ‘values’ or ‘measures’ group in the rows, and keep the measure selection in the values area so we can see the measure descriptions along the side rather than on top of the grid.

This is fairly simple pivot grid functionality, so I would be surprised if this isn’t there.

I can’t find a demo that does this - is it possible?

    Thanks,

    Nemanja

    Hi Nemanja,

If I understand correctly what you need is that the label for the values field should be displayed as row header instead of the column header as shown in the attached image.

We are sorry but currently it is possible to achieve the required functionality, curretly header of the values fields are shown as column headers. This behaviour is same as the pivot table behaviour in MS Excel.

    Hi Sharad,

Thank you for the reply. I think you do seem to understand what I’m asking, though I’m not sure that this is not currently possible in Excel.

I’ve just pulled up a Pivot table in Excel 2013 and am able to achieve what I’m trying to do very easily. See attached image. As you can see, the ‘Values’ group is populated by the selected fields, which is the same as the Amount field you showed above, but it’s also added as an item which you can place on the rows or columns axis, so that you can decide how it is represented.

I am essentially trying to do what the screenshot below does.

If that isn’t currently possible - are there any plans for this to be added as a feature?

    Thanks,

    Nemanja
