We’re wanting to move away from Crystal Reports and are looking at FlexReports/ActiveReports as a potential solution.

Upon trying to import a crystal report file to C1FlexReportDesigner I initially got an error asking to check that Crystal Reports was installed. I attempted the solution presented in https://www.grapecity.com/forums/c1-studio/flex-reports---import-fail#original-post. I had copied the dlls from the link. I then got this error.

“Import from Crystal Reports could not intialize RAS API. Please install Crystal Reports 13.0.2000.0 or later.”

I replaced the dlls with the newer versions (13.0.26.3348) that we deploy with our software and still got the same error.

I have SAP Crystal Reports 2016 SP8 installed.

I also have Crystal Reports: Runtime Engine and for Visual Studio 13.0.25.3158 on my machine.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,

It is known issue in FlexReport with the Crystal Report. Our developer team are working on this issue. Meanwhile, you can go through ActiveReports. ActiveReports have the import tool which convert your Crystal report to Section/Page/Rdl report. Please refer the following link:

    https://www.grapecity.com/activereports/docs/v14/online/converting-with-import-wizard.html

Also for more information on ActiveReports, please refer the following links:

    https://www.grapecity.com/activereports

Also, if you share your requirements, we will suggest you to choose between C1FlexReport and ActiveReport which one is better for you.

    Thanks,

    Mohit
