    Hello,

as mentioned in topic title the flexgrid-methods LoadExcelSheetNames and LoadExcel run into exception when the processing file is opened by another user on the network or by a local excel-instance.

I provide a windows forms sample-application which demonstrates that. All you need is a simple excel-file: At first step try to open and look if worksheets appear in dropdown, then load to flexgrid via button. That should work…

Now try the same when the processing file is opened with local excel.

In my opinion the behaviour is different to earlier versions. At the moment we use V4.5.2 / 20192.1.375 of flexgrid.

Is it possible that users could read the latest save-state of an excel-file in the near future again?

    Thanks!

    Kind regards

    Lars

    Hello,

Sorry but we can not replicate any issue at our end while loading Excel file as per your given steps.

Please see the attached GIF file for reference and let us know if you are doing something else.

    Regards,

    Prabhat Sharma.

    Hi Prabhat,

    thanks for your reply.

After your answer I’ve done a few more tests because I thought the Office-version might be the reason. On my development machine I use Excel 2019. But a test with Excel 2007 results in the same problem.

I’ve added two example files. It would be nice if you could test again with these.

    TestFileXL2019.xlsx:

File is generated with Excel 2019. Produces error when is accessed with Excel 2019 and 2007.

    TestFileXL2007.xls:

Old file-format. This is the same file as TestFileXL2019.xlsx but saved as XLS under Excel 2007. This file gives no error when doing the procedure.

    Kind regards

    Lars

    Hello,

    Thank you for the attachments.

We could also replicate the issue with 4.5.2 version controls thus forwarded this to the developers. We will let you know once we get any update on this from the developers end.
