GrapeCity Developer Solutions Announces Documents v3.2 Release

Pittsburgh, PA – August 20th, 2020 GrapeCity, a global provider of award-winning enterprise software development tools, is pleased to announce the release of v3.2 for the GrapeCity Documents API product line. The latest version includes enhancements for GrapeCity Documents for PDF, GrapeCity Documents for Word, GrapeCity Documents for Imaging, and GrapeCity Documents for Excel. The main highlights include extracting text paragraphs from PDF documents, new shapes support in Word documents, digital signatures support in Excel spreadsheets, and much more.

In addition to searching and extracting lines of text, GrapeCity Documents for PDF now allows users to extract entire text paragraphs from PDF documents. This new feature permits a wider range of text search, enhanced text extraction filters and redundant text lines, and text paragraphs in tables. With a wider range of text searches, users can work with text search across line breaks, search and extract text split between separate PDF text rendering operators, and much more. Previously, it proved difficult to extract text that rendered multiple times in the same location, but, with the latest release, search results will return unique occurrences of the lines that are logically duped in the file. For more information, visit the GrapeCity website.

GrapeCity Documents for Word adds a new API to the existing shapes support to create and manipulate shapes in Word documents. With this new API, users can load and edit shapes and save documents without losing shapes or shape properties. Now, there is a wide range of geometric shapes, shape presets, and theme-based shape styles to choose from. It's also possible to modify the shapes for size, color, or fill type across several Word documents. For more information, visit the GrapeCity website.

The GrapeCity Documents for Excel API library provides Excel-like APIs for users to implement digital signature UIs or services in Excel spreadsheets. They are entirely based on Microsoft Office digital signatures support. By adding digital signatures to Excel workbooks, the user is assured of the signer's identity and the document's authenticity. The security architecture of digital signatures links all documents signed digitally to the user's identity and is easy to validate. For more information, visit the GrapeCity website.

Several new samples have been added to GrapeCity Documents for Imaging. The samples can be used for image comparison, image manipulation detection, or different frames of security footage. Full source code is available for the following samples: Find DifferencesInvisible TextPNG vs. JPEG, and Font Hinting. For more information, visit the GrapeCity website.

“I am excited about this new release of GrapeCity Documents 3.2 – the new support for enhanced text search in the JavaScript PDF viewer, the new shapes support for Word documents, and the digital signature support for Excel workbooks will provide useful new tools for developers to create rich Office documents,” said Product Manager, Sean Lawyer.
