NEGBINOM.DIST

In This Topic

This function returns the negative binomial distribution.

NEGBINOM.DIST(*x*,*r*,*p,cumulative*)

This function has these arguments:

Argument | Description |
---|---|

x |
An integer representing the number of failures in trials |

r |
An integer representing the threshold number of successes |

p |
Probability of success on each trial A number between 0 and 1 |

cumulative |
A logical value that determines the form of the function. If cumulative is TRUE, this function returns the cumulative distribution function; if FALSE, it returns the probability density function |

The number of successes is fixed and the number of trials is variable. If *p* is less than 0 or greater than 1, the function returns the #NUM! error value. If *x* is less than 0 an error is returned. If *r* is less than 1 an error is returned.

Accepts numeric data for all arguments. Returns numeric data.

NEGBINOM.DIST(B1,C15,0.335,TRUE)

NEGBINOM.DIST(R1C2,R15C3,0.75,TRUE)

NEGBINOM.DIST(4,13,0.85,TRUE) gives the result 0.9012900017858557

This function is available in Spread for Windows Forms 11.0 or later.
