Are there any plans to support .NET Core with Active Reports? Specifically Core 2.0.

    Hello,

ActiveReports does not support .net core at present. We may add the support for .NET Core in near future but we don’t have a definite ETA for this.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Thanks,

This is very disappointing. We’ve just bought a licence for Active Reports but are in the process of converting to ASP.NET Core.

We will not be purchasing any further licences or upgrades unless the situation changes.

In the mean time, I’ll be looking at Telerik’s reporting tool which does support .NET Core…

Although ActiveReports doesn’t have official support for .net core as of now, but to use ActiveReports in an ASP.NET Core application, you can create wrappers for the ActiveReports assemblies and use HTML5 Viewer to just view the report. I have attached a sample asp.net core application where the report can be viewed in the Html5 Viewer. Please add the required ActiveReports assemblies in the ‘AR_AspNetCore\lib\net451’ folder of the application before running it. The list of required assemblies can be found in this folder - AR_AspNetCore\wrap

We have had requests for .net core support and as Deepak mentioned, it may be added in near future.

    AR_AspNetCore.zip

Can I use wrapped ActiveReports on Linux?

  • Posted 29 October 2017, 8:38 pm EST

    Hello,

ActiveReports is built on .NET framework and needs it to run properly. I am not sure if wrapping ActiveReports will make dependencies available on Linux.

    Thanks,

The code did not work. I am using version 11.2.10750.0 and an error occurred despite providing the correct js and css files.

" The version of GrapeCity.ActiveReports.Viewer.Html.js or GrapeCity.ActiveReports.Viewer.Html.min.js does not match the version of ActiveReports installed on the server side. Please update the javascript files in your application."

Please also provide a code that will also work on .Net Core 2.0.

    Thank you very much.

To avoid the error you’re getting, please replace the ‘GrapeCity.ActiveReports.Viewer.Html.js’ file in your application with the one located at C:\Program Files (x86)\GrapeCity\ActiveReports 11\Deployment\Html.

As we mentioned earlier, there are no .net core specific packages for ActiveReports since it requires the full .NET framework to run. The solution we provided earlier is just a workaround/hack to make it work with .net core. You can try running it with .net core 2.0 as well and see if it works.

Is there any workaround on this? Telerik Reporting can support .Net Core 2.0 by using REST Services, Is there any support like this using ActiveReports?
