    (Using VB6 Windows XP) I’ve recently upgraded my development machine, reinstalled all my development tools, including AR2 std, and now I get this message at the bottom of my reports during run-time.







    I used my original install CD and provided my install code. I’ve re-compiled the project. Help!

    I believe you see the evaluation message on the development machine. If so please perform the following steps:-



    1) Uninstal ActiveReports 2.0 completely from your machine.

    2) Delete any ActiveReports dlls that might have been left over.

    3) Rerun your installation CD and enter the serial number to license it.

    4) Run the hotfix that you may have already downloaded.

    5) Recompile and run your application

    I found a copy of actrpt2.dll floating around in my system32 folder. After removing all traces and reinstalling, it’s now all good.

    Hello. This issue has reared it’s ugly head again. The above message is once again appearing at the bottom of each report. I’ve attempted to follow the steps from above but this time it’s not working. When I run ar2StdSP2.5.0.1322.exe I am not prompted to enter my serial number. Also I see no way to run anything to key it in. I suspect this may be the issue as from what you said above, it thinks I’m in demo mode. Any assistance would be appreciated.

    Hello,

    Use the license.exe (If you bought the Standard Edition) or licensepro.exe(If you bought the Professional Edition) present in original install CD to license the product.

    As I recall my original install media were 3.5" floppy disks for AR2. Would you please point me to a copy of the license.exe file on your web-site?

    Thank you for the License file. Unfortunately it seems to think that the serial number I have is invalid. The format of the serial number I have is as follows: DD-AR-20-xxxxxxx

    I’m wondering if the licensing file you provided is for a newer version of Active Reports? Again, I’m using Active Reports 2 Standard.

    Thank you for your quick response. I’ve downloaded the LicensePro2.exe, but it keeps telling me that I have an invalid serial number, but I am copying it right from the invoice for ActiveReports. I have tried running in compatibility mode for Win7 and as administrator. I know that this product is long out of support, but do you have any other suggestions?
