    Hi Team,

Can you please let us know how can we install the C1StudioInstaller20181.1.17.exe offline mode.

We have installed visual studio 2015 professional and then tried to install the media silently. But the exe not showing any help options or silent switches. No option to pass any command line for the features to be selected/deselected.

I don’t see any logs generated during the installation.

    Could you please help us.

    Thanks and Regards,

    Chaithanya

    Hi Team,

We have tried using below command after installing licensing.

    C1StudioInstaller20181.1.17.exe msiexec.exe /i /qb

But this is opening the installer. Silent installation should not open the installer correct?

Please help us here. Can we have Offline switches in .MSI installer file since we are using .EXE installer file. Please let us know.

    Thanks,

    Chaithanya

    Hi Team,

Used below command to install silently

    C1StudioInstaller20181.1.17.exe msiexec.exe -i -s -pWIF,MVC,WEF,WPF,LIS,INS,ACX,XAO . I was able to install the media silently.

Can you please let us know what Product code can used for Web API. We need to add Wed API in the above command.

    Thanks,

    Chaithanya

    Hi Meenakshi,

    Good day!

    What we are doing:

We are installing the module in silent mode through elevated cmd prompt in system context.

We run PsExec.exe -i -s -d cmd.exe which opens system context elevated cmd prompt. in that cmd prompt we execute below command.

“C1StudioInstaller20181.1.17.exe -i -s -pWEF,WPF,LIS,INS,ACX,XAO,WIF,MVC,SIL,WRT,UWP” It runs silently for some time. then we get “An unhandled exception occurred in C1studioinstaller”.

I was able to reproduce the issue in two other windows 10 machines.

    Thanks,

    Chaithanya

    Chaithanya!

I tried the same command as yours- “C1StudioInstaller20181.1.17.exe -i -s -pWEF,WPF,LIS,INS,ACX,XAO,WIF,MVC,SIL,WRT,UWP” on Windows 10 machine, but I could not replicate the issue.

Can you please confirm if you are running command prompt with admin rights?

    Best regards,

    Meenakshi

    Hi Meenakshi,

Step1: Copy PsExec.exe attached here into the file location.

Step2: Run the CMD in admin mode.

Step 3: Redirect to the path where PsExec.exe file is present and run command “PsExec.exe -i -s -d cmd.exe”. It opens CMD in admin mode in system context.

Step 4: In this CMD prompt redirect to the path where C1StudioInstaller20181.1.17.exe is present and run th cmd “C1StudioInstaller20181.1.17.exe -i -s -pWEF,WPF,LIS,INS,ACX,XAO,WIF,MVC,SIL,WRT,UWP,API”.

You will get the issue if we do in system context. I am attaching the PsExec.exe file.

    Thanks,

    Chaithanya

    Hi Chaithanya!

During further investigation, it seems that the problem is with your Documents folder. How is the Documents folder mapped in your machine?

You can check- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders’s Personal value.

Moreover, though the exception has been thrown, your previously shared log suggests that the installation went through correctly.

    Meenakshi
