I am maintaining a legacy VB6 project that uses Spread 6 (from when it was still Farpoint). In that version of Spread, if you have a combobox cell you could link that cell to another Farpoint control called FPCombo. That FPCombo control has been out of maintenance and support of any kind for years. Hasn’t affected me until now, but the FPCombo control will not install on any operating system later than Vista.

The Spread 6 property for this functionality is TypeComboBoxhWnd.

I am looking to migrate to the com version of Spread 8. Is there a similar functionality in Spread 8?

    Thank you for your time.

    Hello,

You can use the same fpCombo control with Spread COM v8(latest). Please go through the documentation here:

Thank you Deepak. I have an issue with the fpCombo control that I don’t know if anyone can help me with. I realize that it is a legacy control and that it is completely out of support, but I don’t know where else to turn at this point. The fpCombo control is part of an old package of controls from Farpoint called ListPro 3.0. I can get this program to install on a Windows 7 32bit machine, but something in the install is not registering properly. It is listed in VB6 as an available control, but if I add it to a project, it says the class library isn’t registered. I have tried registering the controls manually with regsvr32 but to no avail.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you very much for your time.

    Hi Ronnie,

You can download the latest build of ListPro Ocx from the link below and test:
