    Hello,

My company is currently evaluating the ActiveReport Professional solution, thus I am working with an trial license.

For this evaluation, I am following the steps described here: https://www.grapecity.com/activereports/docs/v14/online/how-to-create-simple-web-designer-sample.html

However, I am stuck at step #14. The page displays a license error:

According to what is described here, the Licenses.licx should have been automatically generated, but it was not present in the project:

    https://www.grapecity.com/activereports/docs/v14/online/ar-how-licensing-activereports.html

I have tried creating an empty Licences.licx. It has first generated an error:

I was able to work around this error using some trick found on StackOverflow (https://stackoverflow.com/a/56593653), but the page still showed the same error (and the App_Licenses.dll was not generated).

Then I tried filling it with the GrapeCity.ActiveReports.SectionReport, GrapeCity.ActiveReports <…> strings, but it now creates the following errors:

Please note that I am not familiar with .net, so I might overlook something basic.

    Best regards,

    Pierre-Yves

    Hello,

Sorry, we have missed this query somehow. Have you install the ActiveReports through MSI or you are directly using the AR using NPM/NuGet?

If you are using AR directly from the NPM/NuGet then please install the GC license manager using the following link:

    https://cdn.grapecity.com/license/winclient.zip

Please remove all your workaround in your sample. Please add the “Licenses.licx” file in properties folder of your project with the following entries:

    GrapeCity.ActiveReports.SectionReport, GrapeCity.ActiveReports
    GrapeCity.ActiveReports.PageReport, GrapeCity.ActiveReports
    GrapeCity.ActiveReports.Export.Pdf.Section.PdfExport, GrapeCity.ActiveReports.Export.Pdf

Or you can directly add the attached file in properties folder of your project.

    Hope it helps.

    Thanks,

    Mohit
