I have to ask, as we only use Section Reports (.cs)… is there any closer movement to getting a native designer in Visual Studio 2022 / dotnet 8 so that we don’t have to do the dance of creating a dotnet 4.8 environment and linking reports?

    Thanks

    Hi John,

We are waiting for Microsoft to fix an issue that causes Custom Designers to not work in VisualStudio when working with a .NET Core project (Custom Component Designer (RootDesigner) not working with projects targeting > netcoreapp3.1 [Internal Reference ID: AR-24749]).

The current ETA for its release is VisualStudio v17.8 Preview 3. However, this release has kept on getting postponed by Microsoft, so it could also be moved to a later release.

Once a fix for the same gets released we’ll do the final implementation and testing for the same which will take some more weeks and we’ll release the fix with ActiveReports.

Currently, if the fix gets released with VS2022 v17.8 Preview 3 then we are expecting to release the fix with ActiveReports 18 v18.1.

    Thank you for your patience.

    Regards,

    Anand
