Within the Active Reports 12 I have two parameters within a report which accept an additional parent parameter of ‘StartDate’. When Selecting NULL for ‘StartDate’ the following parameters return the exception:

    “! Has outstanding dependencies”.

Within the ‘Username’ and ‘Accession’ DataSets I have written the query to evaluate if ‘StartDate’ IS NULL or IS NOT NULL. This functions properly within Active Reports Designer Preview within this exception. It fails when run from Active Reports 12 Server as you can see in the screenshots.

I have attached the ‘Username’ and ‘Accession’ parameter queries to this topic for further explanation.

    Hello Connor,

Could you please check with the attached report and see if the issue is also reproducible with the same?

Also, please share the exact version of the ARS that you are using.

In AR12S Sp3, some issues related to the null parameter were fixed. Could you please check with the latest build.

    http://cdn.grapecity.com/ActiveReports/ar12/hotfixes/ActiveReports12Server-v12.3.9686.0.exe

    http://cdn.grapecity.com/ActiveReports/ar12/hotfixes/ActiveReports-v12.3.17417.0.msi

If the issue still exists, it is possible to share a demo report along with the database so that I can replicate the issue at our end.

    Thanks

    I am using Active Reports 12 v 12.2.9198.0

Also, I’m unable to see the report you have attached to your response.

NOTE: The “! Has outstanding dependencies” Error does occur with the Report Designer Preview.

BUT, after you move make a selection THEN move the selection BACK to NULL it works.

    user id=qatester;data source=10.98.4.70;initial catalog=Northwind;password=qatesting;

Fails to connect to SQL Server.

The cascading parameters in your attached report are the exact same process I am following in my report.

Can you confirm if my version of Active Reports v12.2.9198.0 has the known defect with NULL parameters?

    Hello ,

the issue with nullable cascading parameters was fixed for HTML5 Viewer.

however, we found the same issue in WebDesigner preview, and developers team is still fixing it(ETA ~1+ week).

please let me know if you want to get a hotfix without WebDesigner part.

    Thanks,

    Sergey Romanov.

Any update to the ETA for the WebDesigner preview fix?

here is a link to the hotfix for HTML5 Viewer:
