Report fails with invalid license for Webviewer message

  I support an old application built with ActiveReports 8 which has been running fine for years. Last Thursday an error message began to appear saying " This application will be terminated because it was built with an invalid license for WebViewer. To continue using ActiveReports 8, contact ComponentOne at sales@componentone.com or Order Online. Please send any questions or comments regarding ActiveReports 8, or our other products to http://our.componentone.com." We also have a licence for AR14 but would prefer not to have to upgrade all the AR8 reports to the new platform if possible. Please could you advise if there is a simple solution.

  Hi Charles,

  Could you please check if your license is showing as ‘Activated’ instead of ‘Invalid’ in your license manager located at ‘C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\ComponentOne\Components’?
  
  If it says ‘Invalid’ please try deactivating and reactivating your ActiveReports 8 with your license key.

  However, if it says ‘Activated’ then in your project within ‘Properties > licenses.licx’ file please make sure you have mentioned the license string reference for your WebViewer:

  GrapeCity.ActiveReports.Web.WebViewer, GrapeCity.ActiveReports.Web.v8, Version=x.x.xxxx.x, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=cc4967777c49a3ff

  Please Note: The WebViewer is only supported with a Professional ActiveReports 8 License as mentioned in the above-mentioned link.
