I have a large commercial application which exhibits the problem but it can be demonstrated with a simple form and a grid.

Even when the application is minimized and I am just copying and pasting text within Microsoft Word (Office 2016) I get a delay or a freeze.

The first Copy (ctrl-C) and Paste (ctrl-V) is OK but when I attempt a second Copy I get the Wait cursor for a few seconds before the Paste completes. Sometimes it freezes until I close the .NET app.

    I have Spread .NET 6.0.3501.2800.

Has this problem been seen before and does anyone know a workaround.

I’m not in a position to move to the latest version of Spread.

I can provide a small demo program if required.

    Thanks

    Hello Steve,

    Sorry for delay!,

Could you please try after using custom clipboard operation instead of the auto clipboard.

Please refer to the following link:

    Hope it helps.

    Thanks.

    Hi, thanks for the reply.

I have tried the AutoClipboard=False option with no difference.

I can get the same fault to show with most of the Spread 6 Sample programs (Feature Example, Drag and Drop, etc.)

A more worrying aspect is that after the ‘delayed’ Copy if word is exited then it will also close the Spread application. A captured Exception report is attached.

The fault only appears to be when doing a Paste in Word (Excel, Notepad, etc. appear fine).

    Regards

    Steve

I have tried the Spread 7 trial download which you kindly made available.

As far as I can tell there are no issues when using Copy/Paste with this version.

    Hello,

I am glad that your issue gets resolved with Spread7. Are you comfortable to upgrade to 7 or the latest version of Spread?

    Thanks.

The upgrade to Spread 7 as an intermediate step would be fine.

    Thanks for your help.

    Regards

    Steve
