Gantt Print Options

Is there a way to access and customize the print preview application?

More likely the path to customizing that experience will come from using some combination of the other C1 components, like the C1PrintPreviewControl. How do I pipe the Gantt print/preview output over to the other controls?

    Hello,

Sorry, but it is not possible to access and customize the print preview diaslog of GanttView.

But if you want to apply custom styles to your printed document then you can check the product sample “PrintingSample” demonstrating the same.

What I want to do is turn off the option to apply custom styles in the preview dialog.

    Hello,

Sorry, but as we said in our last post that it is not possible to access and customize the print preview dialog of GanttView so it is not possible to turn off the option to apply custom styles in the preview dialog.

If you want you can add your own ToolStripButton in the GanttView ToolStrip and perform the Printing by your specific setting using the PrintInfo property of GanttView.

Yes, I’m already down the path to override the default print dialogs. The remaining problem is that if the user doesn’t proceed directly to print, the preview window has a toolbar with the option to apply a custom style. To clarify, it’s in that preview window I was looking for an option to override the built-in print preview.

    Hi John,

As you said in your last post that “the preview window has a toolbar with the option to apply a custom style.”, please confirm that you are talking about the option which is shown in the attached screenshot. If there is any other option that you are talking about then please share the screenshot for the same.

If you want to customize the option which is shown in the screenshot then it is not possible as of now but please confirm the above information so that we can escalate it to the developers and ask them if it can be achieved.

    Regards,

    Prabhat Sharma.

I’m talking about the preview window itself. I don’t want the Open button on this window.

Another note about this issue: the reason I’m trying to lock it out is in part because when loading a custom style, picking a file that isn’t a custom style file causes the entire application to crash. I expect a simple message that the file isn’t a compatible or valid style file rather than a full crash.

    Hi John,

Thank you for the additional information.

We will forward it to the developers.

Could you clarify the full version number where the fix was introduced?

  • Posted 29 June 2023, 6:07 pm EST - Updated 29 June 2023, 6:12 pm EST

    Hello John,

The fix was introduced in the 20212.513 build.

    https://www.nuget.org/packages/C1.Win.C1GanttView/4.5.20212.513

You can add a C1RibbonPreviewDialog control on the form and set it as C1PrintPreviewDialog of the GanttView controls and handle its ribbon elements.

Please see the attached screenshot for reference.

    Regards,

    Prabhat Sharma.
