Troubleshooting License Nag Screens after Updating the Controls

If the application was working but you start to see a nag screen/pop-up after updating the controls, it is likely due to one of these reasons:

  • The product version being used may fall outside of your subscription window. Click on the About button for the control you're trying to license and identify the version number. For example, if your license is 2020 v2, you are entitled to versions up to and including 2021 v2 (version x.x.20212.xxx).
  • The licenses.licx file needs cleaned. Click Tools - Mescius - Update Projects and try both options.
  • The dll reference needs its SpecificVersion property set to false.
