    We have a valid license for Active Reports 6 and for now building our application locally in Visual studio works fine. The application also works fine when its distributed to our users.

    However, what we really want do is to build our application via visualstudio.com.
    The build works fine, but the users documents gets a watermark saying that the document was created using an "Evaluation version of Active Reports".

    I´ve tried to call SetLicense method, but I get a message saying that the method is obsolete and a broken link to where newer documentation is supposed tio be.

    How can i get rid of the watermark?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello,

    Please refer the following link for ActiveReports 6 documentation:
    http://help.grapecity.com/activereports/webhelp/Legacy/ActiveReports6/webframe.html

    Yes, the SetLicense() Method has been deprecated and can no longer be used for licensing ActiveReports. You need to follow followoing steps:

    1.You need to license your machine with valid ActiveReports 6 license.
    2.Open the project in Microsoft Visual Studio.
    3.Open the Visual Studio Build menu and select Rebuild Solution.
    4.The executable application is now licensed, and no nag screens or evaluation banners appear when you run it. You can distribute the application to un-licensed machines and no nag screens or evaluation banners appear.

    Also, you can refer the follow link for licensing ActiveReport:
    http://help.grapecity.com/activereports/webhelp/Legacy/ActiveReports6/topic34.html

    Thanks,

    Hi Mohit,
    Thank you for your reply.

    We have no problem building our application on our own machine.
    Our problem is that we want to build our application on another machine (visualstudio.com)

    Is there another way that our application can refer to our license?
    Any function thathas replaced SetLicense()?

    Hello,

    Sorry for delay response.

    Please try to license in below mentioned steps :
    Using "App_licenses.dll"

    1.Open the project in Microsoft Visual Studio.
    2.Open the Visual Studio Build menu and select Rebuild Solution.
    3.For licensing Web Site applications, open the Visual Studio Build menu and select Build Runtime Licenses to create the App_Licenses.dll file
    Using Web Key Generator utility:
    1.Open the "Web Key Generator" utility located at (e C:\Program Files\Common files\GrapeCity\ActiveReports 6 folder)
    2.In the dialog that appears, copy the Web Key by clicking Copy. We recommend that you use the second Copy button to copy the Web Key together with the corresponding web.config section.
    3.Paste the Web Key into the web.config file of your project between the opening and closing <configuration> tags to remove the licensing message. The web.config key looks like the following.
    <configuration>
    <appSettings>
    <add key=" ActiveReportsLicense " value="Name,Company,SERIAL NUMBER,Generated Hash Code" />
    </appSettings>
    </configuration>

    Hope it helps.

    Thanks,
    Mohit
