    Hi,

I have an issue with  the ComboBoxCellType. when i click on combobox, dropdown gets displayed with the list of values and goes off in no time. so there is no time for the user to select a value in the dropdown. This issue exists in Windows 8 Operating System only. It works well with Windows 7 OS.

It would be great if any one helps me out of this ?

    Thanks

    Ravindranath

    Hello,

I tested the issue with latest version of Spread i.e. Spread.Net6 v6.0.xx05 on a Windows 8 operating system machine and Visual Studio 2012 but I was not able to replicate the issue at my end. I have attached a video that depicts the same, please let me know if I missed something. I would also like to know which version of Spread are you currently using. However, I was able to notice that on clicking on the cell with celltype set to ComboBoxCellType for the first time, it displays the list correctly, but once you select a value and again click on the cell while the cell is in edit mode, it does not displays the list again but changes the value in the cell if I click anywhere in the area where the list would have displayed. Please share your observations on the same.

    Thanks,

    Manpreet Kaur

    Hi,

I dont have development environment having Windows 8 OS installed. Even we dont have access to the Testing environment system to install other versions of Windows Far Point Spread. So can you please try simulating this issue at your end by installing the Spread of version what we have been using (v5.0.3511.2008) in Windows 8 OS and let me know if this occurs at your end as well. ?

    Thanks

    Hello,

I was not able to replicate the issue at my end. Please have a look at the attached sample created on Windows 8 using Spread for Windows Forms v 5.0.3511 in VS 2008. I would request you to modify the attached sample to depict your issue so that I can replicate the same at my end and debug it further.

    Thanks,

    Manpreet Kaur

    Hi Manpreet,

I have seen your sample application and everything looks same almost. There is nothing i can modify in your code to depict the issue. But i have one point to say.

The environment where this issue found is Win8 desktop windows 2012 server and it is a testing domain. No visual studio development environment (having win8 desktop and windows 2012 server) exists to debug or play around with the code to simulate the issue or to resolve the issue.

    Note:

Issue doesn't exists in windows server 2008 64 bit OS. Issue exists in Windows server 2012 64 bit OS.

    Thanks,

    Ravindranath

    Hi Manpreet,

I have got the chance to test the sample application that you have sent in our testing domain (windows server 2012 OS) by placing your application's exe and i could able to simulate the issue that we have been discussing about. So it is clear from our end that there is an issue with ComboBoxCellType. Please let me know your view on this.

    Thanks

    Hi Manpreet,

I have downloaded the latest version of Spread.Net v 6.0.3506.2008 and placed the spread control in the sample application that you have posted earlier and tested in my system having the environment of windows 7 32 bit OS. There is no issue in this environment. Even before there was no issue. The issue still exists in Windows server 2012 64 bit OS environment.

Can you please confirm with your developement team in what environment they tried to simulate the issue ?

Please let me know if you need the video file through which the simulated issue can be seen ?

    Thanks

I see this comment above . Actually we are also facing the same problem . Any fix ?

Please note this issue is infrequent and happening only on our remote servers which is windows server

It is not happening when I am running the code from my local system which is windows 10

    Hi Ankit,

It seems like you have created a duplicate post for the same. So, I have replied here: https://www.grapecity.com/forums/spread-winforms/issue-with-comboboxcelltyp_1

And please try to avoid creating multiple posts for the same query as it might lead to confusion.
