After the last WinForms 4.0.20192.375 update, C1SuperLabel has a problem.

It looks like some HTML tags are now problematic for C1SuperLabel.

The attached example is fine by default. But for example, try changing the Text property to “Offset L AUS ”. An error message appears as shown in the attached picture.

    Hello,

Thank you for sharing your sample application.

I executed the same at my end and could not observe the said error. Please refer the attached gif showing the same.

Let me know if something is different here while executing the application.

In case the issue persists at your end, kindly share your system environment details.

    Thanks,

    Esha

    Hello,

Unfortunately, the problem is still present. See current video. Note that although the Text property returns to its original value only after the UseMnemonics property is changed to False and back to True, the label is restored.

My OS is Windows 10 Pro version 1903, 64-bit.

MS Visual Studio Professional 2019 version 16.2.3.

    CPU Intel Xeon, 16GB RAM.

What other information do you need to specify?

    Thanks,

    Jan

    Hello Jan,

I executed the application on a Win 10 machine with VS 2019. However, the issue wasn’t observed.

Allow me to investigate on this further. I’ll soon get back to you with a response.

    Thanks.

I tried the example on 3 different computers and always the same error. Is it a problem with the font? I have English VS, but Windows is in Czech language version. Could you try it in some other Windows language version, eg Czech, Polish, Slovak, German?

Thanks for doing this. This is a rather unpleasant problem for our projects, we use SuperLabel quite often.

I’m ready to help with anything, try something…

    Hi Jan,

Yes, I have been using English environment on our machine. However, I now changed the locale to Czech and German but the results were same.

I still want to try replicating the issue on the exact same Windows and VS version as yours (our Windows 10 and VS 2019 versions are a bit different). I am getting the environment ready for the same and will get back to you once this is done.

    Thanks,

    Esha

    Hello Esha,

Today Microsoft has released a new VS 16.2.4 update.

Among other things, the release notes show that the “value -1 is outside the acceptable [0.2147483647] range. Parameter name: value” error has been fixed. This looks similar to “our” error. Unfortunately, upgrading to this version of VS didn’t help.

    See https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/visualstudio/releases/2019/release-notes.

It is possible that the problem is actually not in the C1 but in the VS or NET framework.

    Bye,

    Jan

    Hello Jan,

I created the environment and can now confirm that the issue is reproducible at my end with Czech locale. I have escalated the same to the concerned team (Internal Tracking ID: 397395) and will let you know once I receive any information.

    Thanks,

    Esha

Hi, I believe that the problem can also be found in the Italian language. Are there any news? Regards

    Hello Esha,

Unfortunately also in version 2019V3 the problem with C1SuperLabel persists.

The same problem occurs not only in the Czech locale, but also in Spanish and Italian.

Could you ask the developers what the solution looks like (Internal Tracking ID: 397395) ?

    Thanks

    Jan
