GrapeCity Developer Solutions Launches Wijmo 2021 v2

Pittsburgh, PA – August 10th, 2021 GrapeCity, a global provider of award-winning enterprise software development tools, is pleased to announce the Wijmo 2021 v2 release. The second major release of 2021 launches with the official debut of FlexMap, Excel note support, and new ColumnGroups API. Wijmo v2 is now available as an upgrade for existing customers and a download for new customers at GrapeCity.com.

The Wijmo team is pleased to announce that FlexMap is no longer in Beta. FlexMap is a beautiful new map control for visualizing geographic data. Map controls can help bring data to life and make it easier to analyze. This JavaScript UI component easily enables developers to create stunning visualizations with geodata. FlexMap supports rendering choropleths and point maps, such as scatter and bubble. The map uses GeoJSON for binding geographical feature and point layers. Based on customer requests, the Wijmo team has added support for Excel notes in the wijmo.xslx module. Now, JavaScript developers can include Excel notes when importing or exporting with FlexGrid or working with any workbooks using Wijmo’s XLSX module. In addition to support for Excel Notes, customers and downloaders will find WorkbookNote class and IWorkbookNote interface. The note can be customized by setting its author, text, position, and size. With these new features, users can take advantage of improved import and export. To learn more about the added support for Excel notes, read the full release.

FlexGrid’s ColumnGroups can now be defined using a typed object model comprised of ColumnGroupCollection and Column Group objects. Previously columnGroups could only be defined using POJO. Now Wijmo has a much more powerful way of defining or declaring ColumnGroups. The Interop modules for Angular, React, and Vue also supports the new ColumnGroup classes. Users can declare ColumnGroups right in the markup of their favorite JavaScript framework. To learn more about the new ColumnGroups API in FlexGrid, visit the release article.

"We are really happy to officially release FlexMap for visualizing geodata," said Product Manager Chris Bannon. "We also added some nice enhancements based on our customers' feedback like Excel note support, and new ColumnGroups API."
