GrapeCity Developer Solutions Releases ComponentOne 2020 v2

Pittsburgh, PA – August 5th, 2020 GrapeCity a global provider of award-winning enterprise software development tools, is pleased to announce the release of ComponentOne 2020 v2, the second major software release of the year. The highlights of this release include the first look at new .NET 5 controls, .NET Core 3.1 support, Blazor charts and WebAssembly support, significant licensing changes, and more.

With the 2020 v2 release, developers can now access ComponentOne's .NET 5 WinForms and WPF controls. These controls take advantage of new features without compromising on backward compatibility or performance. In the initial WinForms CTP, users will find FlexGrid, FlexChart, Ribbon, and more. In the WPF CTP, FlexGrid, FlexChart, FlexPie, and more are being released. Based on user feedback, the ComponentOne team plans to release additional controls for the November release. In addition to the new .NET 5 controls, there is now support for .NET Core 3.1 across WinForms, WPF, ASP. NET Core MVC, and Blazor. To learn more about the new .NET 5 controls and the .NET Core 3.1 support, see the release post.

The new Blazor Edition expands this release with the addition of FlexChart and WebAssembly support for all controls. Users can add charts to their Blazor Server and WebAssembly apps with FlexChart. This new feature also provides 50+ chart types and customization options, delivers modern data visualizations and dashboards with SVG rendering, and includes the same powerful charting engine as other platforms.

Starting with 2020 v2, ComponentOne has merged Studio Enterprise and Ultimate bundles at the lower subscription price. Users who work with Studio Enterprise now have access to the JavaScript and MVC Enterprise controls and the newest .NET service components like DataConnectors and DataEngine. These new options provide added value for all .NET apps. Learn more about how this licensing change affects web and desktop developers.

"This release is all about giving developers more," said Product Manager, Greg Lutz. "More platforms supported like .NET Core 3.1 and .NET 5 Preview. More value in our Studio Enterprise bundle like advanced web controls and data service components. And more useful controls have been added to popular editions, like WinForms, WPF, ASP. NET MVC, and Blazor."
