I have a number of large programs written in VB6 (see using the old version 7 activeX controls.
I started this in WinXP and stayed with VB6 and now have the entire development environment running in Win10, after upgrading one pc from Win7 to Win 10.
(actually the controls only started working in Win10 after I installed a trial of the version 8 controls.)
I am now setting up a new pc, a Surface, and am unable to install the version 6 or 7 controls
Is there a way to do this, or else is it possible to easily upgrade a project to use the new versions?

I would like you to know that the support for all the ActiveX controls below version 8.0 has been officially withdrawn. We do not support these legacy controls anymore. Also, these older controls are not supported in modern environments like Windows 10.

Therefore, would suggest you to upgrade to the latest version of ActiveX Edition which includes a lot more new features and bug fixes in addition with the support of latest environments.

You can easily upgrade your existing projects to VSFlexGrid 8.0 using the conversion utility provided in the distribution package. Please refer the following documentation link for more information on this:

Yes, that's why I asked about easily upgrading.
I will say that the older version works fine for me in Windows 10.
    Thanks for the link.
