Error during designer load

I'm using VS2005\VB. I've installed the latest trial version.  I created a test project to confirm the installation and simply added FpSpread to a form without any changes.  Then I exited to work on other projects.

Upon returning (a few days later) and loading my test project, I receive this error:

    ******************************************************

One or more errors encountered while loading the designer. The errors are listed below. Some errors can be fixed by rebuilding your project, while others may require code changes.

Failed to parse the following code: Dim TipAppearance1 As FarPoint.Win.Spread.TipAppearance = New FarPoint.Win.Spread.TipAppearance The code within the method 'InitializeComponent' is generated by the designer and should not be manually modified. Please remove any changes and try opening the designer again.

I tried rebuilding the project (as suggested) and completely re-started VS2005 without any luck.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Thanks for your help!

    How\where do I send?

    Hello,

You can zip up the files and either post them on the thread (if size is less than 256KB). Or you can email it to us at fpsupport@FarPointSpread.com.

I zipped the project directory and sent as an email

    Thanks

    Hello,

It sounds like Visual Studio loaded the wrong version of Spread into your project. What version of the Spread dll is being referenced in the project?

    Hello,

This is the correct version. Is this the version that is being loaded by the project? Could you send us the form files for us to debug?

  • Replied 8 September 2017, 12:31 pm EST

    Hello,

The project you sent to me was only referencing the FarPoint.Win.Spread.DLL. When opening your form, I saw the same issue. The problem is you need to reference FarPoint.Win.DLL in your project as well. Once I did that, and rebuilt the project, I was able to view the form with no problems.

Thanks!  That got it going for me!
