Farpoint Spread Designer Error

I found a problem while opening the solution file if I include Farpoint.Win.Spread.Design dll in my project reference.

This dll does not come in reference if simply the spread is drag & dropped from toolbox but I have manually added it.

    The error is like:

Microsoft (R) Visual Basic Compiler has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Please find attached two demo projects, one including Farpoint.Win.Spread.Design dll

and the other without it. The later one opens fine but the former one gives the above error when I open the solution file.

Can anyone suggest how the overcome this?

I am using the Farpoint Spread version 2.5.2008.2005 in my application.

    Kunal -

Both of these opened fine for me.  When do you get the error?  With the solution that includes the designer dll I also opened the form in design view and never did receive any type of error.  Are you sure you included the correct version of the design dll?

    Hi Bob,

I am getting the error as soon as I opened the solution file for project TestProjectWithFarpointDesignerDLL attached in my earlier post. I had added the correct version of the dll FarPoint.Win.Spread.Design (Version 2.5.2008.2005 and runtime version v2.0.50727)  in project reference which started the problem.

After clicking the Don't Send button twice in Visual Basic Compliler error screen , when I opened the designer file of Form1, I am getting the error like :

Catastrophic failure (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8000FFFF (E_UNEXPECTED))

    Kunal -

I'm not getting anything like that.  I even tried creating my own project, added the design dll, closed the solution again and opened it again and it works fine.  Anything else you can think of?  Your project works fine for me.

    Did you ever resolve this?

We never did hear back from Kunal and I was never able to reproduce the problem.
